At Long last the 435 Voices podcast begins in earnest today with a profile of South Dakota’s lone congressional district. My guests are Cara Hetland, Director of Radio News and Broadcasting at South Dakota Public Radio and Lisa Hager, Assistant Professor of Political Science at South Dakota State University
We had a great discussion about the outcomes that matter most in the Mount Rushmore State heading into 2020 elections. Among the topics: The nature of the state’s agricultural economy, what to do about the brain drain that pulls young talent out of many rural states and the diverse landscape of the nation’s fourth largest congressional district.
My sincere thanks again to Cara and Lisa for sharing their insights and getting 435 Voices off to such a great start.
Look for a profile of the West Virginia first district tomorrow, with Dave Mistich from West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
